ERIC POLLARDS’S skis are as unique as his style of riding. They are a pure extension of his own creativity and ongoing enthusiasm to get out on snow each day and have the time of his life. Every detail in each of his skis, from their dimensions, to their construction, and even the paint strokes in the graphics have been created by Eric. His Freestyle Backcountry skis are some of his most essential tools, needed to support his and our personal quest, to continually push the sport further in every possible way. The Sir Francis Bacon sold out before it even arrived in the UK last year… for 2007-2008, like last season, Eric has designed the entire ski - graphics, dimensions & construction. The original concept for the Sir Francis Bacon took seed in 2005 when Eric decided to develop the most unconventional yet progressive freestyle ski ever made. He named it ‘The Elizabeth’. His goal was for the Elizabeth to handle less like a traditional ski and more like a snowboard. The Elizabeth was hugely popular and inevitably there were calls for a ‘big brother’ version… and so the Sir Francis Bacon was born at 182cm. There’s no question in our minds, LINE has found the winning combination with this ski, incorporating a unique symmetric flex pattern with extra deep elliptical snowboard-like sidecut, a slant sidewall construction and a bunch of other secret ingredients we can’t share! This year ‘Early Taper’ has also been added. The result is a fun, freestyle snowboard-like feel with incredible freestyle agility, especially in the deep stuff.
